On a family vacation with my parents, I wanted to do something special together. A wine tasting was too passive. When I discovered the truffle hike, I knew it would be perfect. Puckie and her family welcomed us warmly. After a refreshing coffee (thank you!) and a little chat, we set off on a walk past olive trees and over picturesque hills. On the way, we talked about truffle hunting, but also about the family's personal history in the region. The truffle dog Lordi did a great job! He found the last truffles of the season. Find out for yourself how that works. We are grateful to have had such direct contact with Italians during our vacation. The truffle hunt was relaxed and exciting at the same time. The highlight of our holiday for me. We were taken care of in every way and can only recommend the experience.
Truffle hunting with Samuelle and his eager dog, Lorde, was a joy. Walking the trails in beautiful country, watching Samuelle keep his young truffle dog on task was interesting and great fun. Plus Lorde nosed out 3 white truffles. We ate them over eggs one night and pasta the next. Delicious! You should try this!
The truffle search experience was fantastic! Meeting them and exploring the breathtaking places in Assisi while hunting for truffles was unforgettable. Plus, having the friendly dog with us made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Venturing into the woods for a truffle hunt was an amazing experience! The owners drove us from Assisi to their cozy hillside home, where we met their friendly dogs. Then we walked through the woods and they shared us facts about truffles while their pups ran around. We hit the jackpot when they found some truffles! So later we had a tea break in nature and the owner even told us how to use truffle for cooking. It was a unique and memorable adventure!
